Overview

What this trip covers

Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park has the shortest drive-time-to-permit ratio of any mountain gorilla destination — about two and a half hours from Kigali. This trip is built for travelers who want the encounter without a long circuit, with golden monkey tracking available as a same-trip add-on in the Virunga bamboo forest.

This sample route can be adjusted by season, lodge preference, travel pace, budget, group size, and special interests such as birding, photography, primates, or family travel.
